Amy Rajasansi (Nurse Coordinator)
Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of New Brunswick. She gained valuable experience as both a home-visiting nurse and hospital nurse before being presented with her position at Trio KW. Amy’s experience as an NICU nurse at The London Health Sciences Centre has provided a sound basis for her ability to help clients navigate through the challenges of Fertility treatment. Amy’s empathetic and compassionate demeanour make her the ideal Nurse Coordinator for Trio KW. Amy has trained at Trio Fertility in Toronto and Lakeridge Fertility in Durham region. She has had extra training by Roche Diagnostics and True North Imaging in Toronto. Amy has also obtained a foundation of fertility knowledge through the EMD Serono’s ABC’s of Artificial Reproductive Technology. Amy is committed to providing superior nursing care and is the perfect person to guide clients on their journey to parenthood.
Dr. Andrew Browning (Medical Director)
Dr. Browning completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology prior to commencing Medical School at McMaster University. He graduated from McMaster in 1989 and completed a rotating internship at the University of Toronto the following year. Dr. Browning completed specialty training in Obstetrics & Gynecology, with a special interest in fertility, at the University of Western Ontario in 1994. For the last 18 years Dr. Browning has functioned as the Medical Director of the Barrie Fertility Centre. In 2013 Dr. Browning and partners strove to improve fertility treatment access in Durham region by forming Lakeridge Fertility Centre. The success and profound client satisfaction with this medical model has prompted the desire to expand access to fertility treatment in the Stoney Creek, Niagara Peninsula Region. Dr. Browning is the Chief of OB/GYN at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, and a Colposcopy & Cervical Screening Lead for Cancer Care Ontario. Dr. Browning was appointed to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s Expert Panel on Fertility Services in Ontario.
Dr. Sony Sierra (Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Specialist (REI))
Dr. Sony Sierra has been a specialist in infertility and recurrent miscarriage since 2006. In addition to her fertility practice at TRIO,
Dr. Sierra and Dr. Carl Laskin run the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss program at TRIO. This program continues to be the largest program in
Canada focused on the investigation and management of recurrent pregnancy loss.
Dr. Sierra is also an Associate Physician at Women’s College Hospital where she specializes in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome,
and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Toronto.
She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and authored chapters in prestigious textbooks, as well as presented papers at national and
international conferences. Her current research interests include infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss and implantation failure,
and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome.)
Dr. Sierra is active in the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) where she is the Ontario representative, as well as a member of the
Guidelines for Practice Committee. In addition, Dr. Sierra is a board member and co-chair of the REI subspecialty committee of the Society of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Toronto. She is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ARSM),
including her new role as Chair Elect for the ASRM-SIG group; she is also a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
Dr. Sierra believes that involvement and participation in these established and well-respected societies will ensure expertise and up to date
knowledge that she can pass on to her patients.
Dr. Sierra is committed to providing excellence in the management of infertility and miscarriage with a gentle, and culturally compassionate approach.
Lisa Russell (Nurse Managing Director)
Lisa graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She obtained a sought after position at the prestigious Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Lisa gained valuable experience in hospital nursing, further fostering her attention to detail, superior nursing care and compassionate demeanor. Lisa’s attributes were perfectly suited for the Nurse Coordinator position at Niagara Fertility. Lisa has been extensively trained for her role, receiving quality training @ Life Quest (now Trio Fertility) in Toronto, Roche (Laboratory) and True North Imaging (Ultrasound). Lisa Continually engages in professional development through membership with the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) as well as the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). Drawing from her experience as a Nurse Coordinator at Niagara Fertility, Lisa presents to her position at Trio KW with impeccable insight into patient experience. Lisa’s role as the Nurse Managing Director will focus on customer care and clinic operations to ensure the optimal delivery of care for our patients.
Ashley Wright (Fertility Nurse)
Ashley graduated from Mohawk College with Honours and gained valuable experience in hospital nursing at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga. Ashley’s compassionate and caring demeanor was perfectly suited for her position at Niagara Fertility. Ashley has had training at Trio Fertility in Toronto, Roche Diagnostics and True North Imaging. Ashley’s solid knowledge base and experience will be a great asset for Trio KW’s clients in their journey to parenthood.
Katie Christensen (Fertility Nurse)
Katie graduated in Nursing from Mohawk College in Hamilton. Her comprehensive set of skills combined with an outgoing and warm personality exemplifies the fit we look for at Trio KW. Katie has received hands on and mentorship at both Trio Fertility and Niagara Fertility. She has had extra Ultrasound Technique training from Esaote and Fertility Nurse training with EMD Serono’s Nurse Training programme. Katie will be a true asset to our Trio KW patient care team.
Sarah Fawcett-Bice (Fertility Nurse)
Sarah graduated from Durham College with Honours and has received numerous awards for exceptional work in both nursing practice and research. Sarah gained valuable experience in hospital nursing at Lakeridge Health before being presented with the opportunity to pursue a passion for Fertility Nursing. Sarah has completed training at Life Quest Centre for Reproductive Medicine and has also completed Laboratory training with Roche in Indiana and Imaging training with True North Imaging in Downtown Toronto. Sarah has experience from her postion at Lakeridge Fertility and has proven to be a true asset to that clinic and a caring and compassionate provider to many couples in their successful journey to achieving pregnancy. We are very happy to have retained Sarah’s services in support of Trio KW Fertility.
